Budapest - Ama Reina
We slept in till almost 8am this morning. The breakfast room was a lot busier at this time. After breakfast I went for another walk by the river. There are a few more clouds this morning, but still hot with a strong breeze off the river so a comfortable temperature.
Check out time is noon, so we have lots of time to repack and relax. We've enjoyed our stay at the Zenit Palace. It's such a convenient location, 1 block from the river between Elizabeth & Chain bridges, and 1 1/2 blocks from the main pedestrian shopping street Vaci Utca. And the rooms, though plain are clean, comfortable and spacious.
At noon we check out, and the front desk ordered us a taxi to take us to the ship. We are at pier 8, which is farthest down the river, but means we don't need to tie up to anyone else. After we drop our luggage at the ship we walked back to the market , and share a goulash soup for lunch. Then we buy some paprika. Both smoked for savory dishes, and sweet for baking.
Once again we are in an entre level cabin with windows high up, no balcony. For us this type of cabin is fine on a River Cruise. Because the ships are small, it's so easy to get to either the outside desks or to a lounge with great views.
Afterwards back to the ship to relax and wait for check-in at 2:30. Then we unpack then go up to the sundesk. 6pm is the cocktail hour, and welcome onboard. 7pm dinner. We thoroughly enjoy our dinner, sitting with a couple from Florida who have been living in France. An excellent dinner, I have a salad, cauliflower soup, gnocchi, and opera cake. Local wines to compliment.
As tomorrow will be a busy day, I think an earlier night is in order!
